Gala

definately an attractive apple, with a two colour peel, a lovely yellow and red, the piebald is small-medium. The flesh is crispy with a prevailling sweet taste which is appreciated amoungst the younger  consumers.

of this fruit is the size, which is not always suitable for the more demanding consumer. This is the  reason why it is not advisable to grow  these apples in hilly areas above an altitude of 500 metres and in soil that is not sufficiently fertile and lacking irrigation.

It is derived from a cross between Kid’s Orange Golden and the Delicious. It was obtained in New Zealand in 1939.

conserved well in the fridge for 5 months and in (ULO ) for 8 months.
